Ardkinglas Estate
In 1947 the tenancy of Achadunan farm was given up by William, John and Robert Weir and the farm was taken back into Ardkinglas Estate.
Ardkinglas estate which was only farming Clachan would have approximately 2000 sheep, the other farms and hills were leased out.
Average wool price - dropped from 1s/1d to 4d per pound.

Cairndow Hotel - Tommy Jones still rents the Cuil Hirsel with approximately 500 ewes on it, Alistair Baker was the shepherd on it and stayed in the bothy at the hotel, which became the cellar and now part of the lounge in the hotel.
